Chia Seed Hydrating water review

Hi friends..

I am very excited to share with you the review of my latest obsession which is The Face Shop Chia Seed No Shine Hydrating Water. I have been using this product since two months now and have been in love with it since then. Also this is from one of my current favourite brand which is Face Shop.

Face Shop products are formulated without the 7 additives (which are paragon, tar colorant, animal-source ingredients, mineral oil, talc, paraffin and polyacrylamide) so is the chia seed hydrating water contains South American Chia seed extract with a moisture hugging formula formulated without the seven additives. As you can see from the picture above that this product comes in a large sized bottle  which contains 300 ml of the product. I have been using it since 2 months now and this is the amount that is still left.

So defenitely this product will really last for a long time. I love the packaging with the transparent bottle and the flip cap with a container kind of spray tip however I wish it came in small travel friendly sized bottles as well.

The product retails for Rs. 1990/- which according to me is worth it looking at the quantity of the product.

The ingredients are as mentioned below:-
Salvia Hispanica Seed Extract, Dipropylene Glycol,Butylene Glycol,Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Water/Eau, Plankton Extract, Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Octyldodeceth-25, Gossypium Herbaceum (Cotton) Seed Extract, Orthosiphon Stamineus Extract, Ceramide 3, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Candida Bombicola/Glucose/Methyl Rapeseedate Ferment, Potassium Hydroxide, Beta-Glucan, Cocoyl Glutamic Acid, Polysorbate 20, Polysorbate 80, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Stearoyl Glutamic Acid, Diospyros Kaki Leaf Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Ppg-26-Buteth-26, Maltodextrin, Xanthan Gum, Parfum/Fragrance, Disodium Edta

As mentioned in the packaging the chia seed hydrating water is a pore cleansing toner that replenishes skin with moisturising Chia Seed Extract while removing excess oil with cotton seed extract. It is a daily pore reducing toner that removes unwanted excess oil, the gentle formula does not contain denatured alcohol and has GMO-free chia seed. GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organism so GMO-free means that the ingredients have been derived from plants whose genetic material has not been artificially altered in a laboratory.

Now coming to my experience with the product. I use the chia seed hydrating water everyday. I really don't feel the need of a moisturiser after applying this. There are few methods of using this product. First, after cleansing soak a cotton pad with the hydrating water and gently wipe the skin. Second, Pour into a mini sized mist sprayer and spray whenever and wherever you want. Third, soak gauze or muslin cloth cut for facial masks and use as a soothing mask that also removes excess oil. Fourth, which is usually how I use it, I press the nozzle and some liquid collects on the top container and I just apply it over my face with the help of my fingers. After applying it I let it dry on its own and it instantly hydrates my skin. Since I have oily skin this hydrating water formula has come to my rescue. As far as the pore reducing claims are concerned I have not seen much difference however it definitely controls the oiliness on the skin at the same time providing that moisturised soft and supple skin. When I am at home I just apply this and sometimes top it up with a sunscreen. It forms a perfect base before applying foundation as it gives that dewy look to the skin. Also I apply this after I am done with my oil absorbing face masks. It soothes my skin and keeps the essential moisture of my skin intact. This product did not have any affect on my acnes and acne scars however my skin looks healthy after applying this.

Pros of the product:
1. Retains skin moisture without making it oily
2. Its an oil free formula so is not greasy at all
3. Cute packaging and the quantity is great
4. Formulated without the seven additives
5. Can be used in different ways as per preference
6. Removes unwanted excess oil from the pores

Cons of the product
1. Did not see much difference on the size of my pores
2. Should come in a travel friendly size packaging

Atlast I would like to say that this hydrating water is a boon for the oily skinned beauties. However I feel anyone can give this a try and you won't be disappointed. I would definitely repurchase this again as it has become an essential part of my daily skincare routine.
