Bioderma Sensibo H2O Review

Hello Friends,

Today I will be reviewing a product which is a must have if you apply makeup on a daily basis. We invest so much of our time to look good. We use different makeup products to enhance our looks. However there is one thing we don't pay attention to is removing that makeup properly which would otherwise lead to acne, blackheads, whiteheads and other troubled skin conditions. We must take the same amount of effort to remove the makeup from our face as much as we take to apply the makeup. It does not matter whether you apply makeup on a daily basis or occasionally a makeup remover is a must have for everyone. You won't believe me if I tell you that a year back I dint even knew that makeup removers existed. I am a person who uses makeup on a daily basis to work. Earlier I used to just wash my face with a cleanser thinking that my face is clean from all the makeup. Believe me my definition of cleaning makeup from my face has changed from the day I have started using makeup remover. The first ever makeup remover I tried is the Bioderma Sensibo H2O makeup removing micelle solution and today I am going to write my views about this product.

Price: Rs 983 for 250ml of the product. Available in other small quality bottles as well.

Packaging:

Comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a pink colour flip-open cap, a very basic packaging. The packaging says that Sensible H2O gently cleanses and removes makeup from face and eyes. The micelles contained in its formula ensure impurities are removed while respecting the cutaneous balance. Soothing active ingredients help prevent feelings of irritation often associated with cleansing. The patented natural D.A.F*(Dermatological Advanced Formula) complex raises the skin's tolerance threshold. Excellent cutaneous and ocular tolerance.

How to use it:

Dab a cotton pad with the micelle solution and just wipe off that stubborn makeup. To avoid rubbing over heavy eye makeup just close your eyes and put the soaked cotton pads above your eyes and light press and hold for few seconds and then wipe off. You will see how easily all that Kajal and mascara comes off which would otherwise give you panda eyes. Same you can do for removing lipsticks. This micelle solution is such that you do not need to cleanse your face after using this solution. However I prefer to wash my face with a mild cleanser even after using the makeup remover.

My views on the product:

For me this little bottle of goodness is a saviour. It takes 5 mins more of my time everyday to do the makeup removing ritual before going to bed, but I dare not miss this step, because otherwise I am know that my face is not absolutely clean. This transparent liquid looking like water can be misleading but you should not underestimate this magical solution. Used in the right way this solution just so smoothly melts down all that stubborn makeup from your face that it feels like magic. I remember using face wash to remove my makeup and end up with panda eyes. Then again next day before taking bath I used to apply some coconut oil to remove the Kajal completely off my eyes, rubbing over so many times to get it perfectly clean and now, using the micelle solution, the Kajal just comes off like magic. Also this solution did not irritate my super sensitive skin which is again a relief for me. I have been using this micelle solution for a year now and will surely recommend you all to try this.

At last I will say that I am going to definitely repurchase this product. Request you all to also leave your comments in the comment section.

The Body Shop Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Milky Toner Review

Hello Friends,

In my last blog I talked about the Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Face Mask and how amazing the results were. Today I would be talking about the Chinese Ginseng and Rice toner which is also from The Body Shop. I recently went to a Body Shop store to repurchase this face mask when the lady there told me that Body Shop also has a Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying toner available. She demonstrated the product for me and said that the product was really good. I had no doubts as I have used the face mask and its amazing. So I purchased this bottle of goodness along with the mask and to be honest the mask along with the toner, hands down, will just change the way you feel your skin.

Price: Rs. 1595 for 250ml of the product

Packaging:

I just love the packaging of this toner. It comes with a beautiful white colour plastic bottle with a black coloured flip open cap.  A spray cap would had been perfect though! A spray cap causes less spillage of the product.

Product Description:

Enriched with Chinese Rice and Ginseng Extract and organic Community Trade sesame seed oil from Nicaragua. The product is 100% vegan and formulated without alcohol. It also says that the toner removes traces of makeup and cleanser, and evens out skin tone. Leaves skin feeling smooth and revitalised, revealing a healthy looking luminous glow.

Ingredients:

There is no product description on the packaging however I could get the list of ingredients from The Body Shop's official website:-
Aqua/Water/Eau, Propanediol, Butylene Glycol, Sesame Indicum ( Sesame ) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Parfum/Fragrance, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Propylene Glycol, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Limonene, Sodium Hydroxide, Citral, Citronellol, Linalool, Eugenol, Dextrin, Oryza Sativa Extract/Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract.

How to use:

The usual way is to dip a cotton pad/ball in the toner and wipe it gently on the face. However I sometimes apply the toner directly on my face, spread it all over and leave it to dry.

My views on the product:

I have been using this product for 3 weeks now and I can surely say that I am very happy with the results. The fragrance of the toner is exactly the same as the mask and I really like the smell. My skin becomes so soft after using this toner. Pores appear minimised and also since it is alcohol free it does not dry out the skin and is deeply moisturising. I sometimes do not feel the need of applying moisturiser and go to bed just applying this toner after cleansing my face. I cannot say whether this is the case for dry skin people as well because I have super oily skin. Also I noticed that whenever I use a cotton pad to apply the toner it always removes the traces of dirt and makeup from my face as shown in the picture below. You can clearly see that there are some traces of dirt and this is after washing my face with a cleanser. Also there is an instant brightening effect on the skin. I can definitely say that the product actually does what it claims.

There are no cons as such, just that it would had been great if it came with a spray opening.

This product is also on the pricier side, however, for me its worth it.  Its definitely a BUY for me.

If there is anything else you want to know about this toner do let me know in the comment section.

The Body Shop Chinese Ginseng & Rice Face Mask Review

Hello Friends,

Today I will be talking about another of my current favourite face mask which is The Body Shop Chinese Ginseng & Rice Face Mask. This mask is a new discovery for me and I just can't stop talking about it. Until sometime back I did not used face masks as the ones that I had used always broke me out. I had a very bad habit of rubbing my face with a wet piece of cloth everyday after applying my face wash. This made my skin super sensitive and rough. One of my close relatives advised me to stop continuing with this practice and start using some face masks/scrubs ones a week. So while I was searching for a good face mask I came across the Chinese Ginseng & Rice Face Mask from body shop and the results have been amazing. So continue reading to know my views on the product.

Price: Rs 1895 for 75 ml of the product

Packaging:

The mask comes in a dark and heavy glass bottle jar which is the usual packaging of body shop products. Ones you open the cap there is a protective lid. It would have been good if body shop had provided a spatula also as every time you have to dip your fingers into the product.

Product Details:-

This creamy exfoliating face mask has been inspired by Chinese traditions and combines revitalising Ginseng, moisturising Rice extract and skin softening Sesame seed oil to reveal brighter-looking, even and supple skin.
 - Ginseng extract from China, known for its skin toning and stimulating properties that help revitalise skin.
- Rice extract from China, traditionally used to moisturize and brighten the skin.
-Community Trade Organic Sesame seed oil from Nicaragua, rich in oleic and linoleum acid to soften the skin
Also the product has a very unique and amazing smell and lingers for some time until washed completely.

How to use it:-

To get the maximum benefits out of this mask use it after completely removing and cleansing the face. Apply evenly on the entire face leaving the eye area and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. After using the product for the first few times I was so much in love with the product that I usually let it sit for some extra 5 to 10 minutes. I rinse it off with some luke warm water in circular motions. It gently removes the dead skin cells and you will notice that instantly the skin appears brighter, revitalised, velvety smooth and pores appear minimised. After using this mask the skin actually becomes so smooth that I can't help touching my face again and again.

My views on the product:-

As I have mentioned in most of my blogs that I have super sensitive skin, I am always very skeptical when it comes to trying new products. Most of them break me out and hence I usually do a complete research before trying anything new. Well this mask has been a saviour and is really amazing. I use it twice a week. While washing I rub off on my nose area so that it removes the blackheads and chin area also and other dry areas. I usually use it at night, wash it off followed up with toning and moisturising and then go to sleep so that my skin has time to breathe and heal and retain the effects of the product until morning when I have to pack on products on top of my skin before leaving for work.

I have been using this product for more than 2 month now and I can undoubtedly say that the mask actually does what it claims. My skin really feels smooth and brighter after every use. It did not break me out and over a period of time my skin imperfections like acne scars and pigmentation seem to have reduced. I am almost done with my first jar and will surely buy another one. The product is little pricier but for me its worth the buy. I believe in using that one right thing for the skin although its pricier rather than trying different products which dont live up to their claims. I have been having troubled skin throughout my life and hence I am very choosy when it comes to skin care products. Believe me, with a skin like mine its very difficult to find the right product and this mask surely has my recommendations.

I dont have much to say about the cons of the product though adding a spatula would have been great.  Also the product should come on trial size packagings as well so that its easier for people to first try out the product and then go for the bigger size if they are happy with the results.

At last, the product has a thumbs up from me and will surely buy it again. If there are any suggestions or if there is anything else that you would like to know about the product, do let me know in the comment section.
